Hello, I am Alana. I’m a qualified psychological therapist who works with adults, children (7+), adolescents and parents .

I feel privileged to support people through life's challenges, recognising that every stage of life brings unique strengths, challenges, needs, and opportunities for growth. Whether I'm working with a child, a young person, an adult, or a parent, my aim is to provide a safe and supportive space where my client feels heard, understood, and empowered to make positive changes.

One of the most rewarding aspects of my work is seeing my clients grow in confidence, develop healthier ways of coping, and gain a greater understanding of themselves. I am passionate about helping clients build resilience, overcome difficulties, and discover their strengths, creating lasting improvements in their emotional wellbeing.

With experience working in both the NHS and private practice, I've had the privilege of supporting people through a wide range of emotional and mental health challenges. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, panic, depression, stress, low self-esteem, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), or simply feeling overwhelmed by life, I'm here to help.

I offer a warm, non-judgemental, and confidential space where you can feel safe to talk openly and be yourself. Together, we'll explore what's been happening in your life, make sense of your thoughts, feelings, and experiences, and develop practical ways to help you move forward. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and tailored to your individual needs, ensuring that therapy feels supportive, meaningful, and right for you. I believe you are the expert of your story, and I’m here to support and empower you as you reconnect with your inner strengths.

Supporting Parents

If you are a parent who is feeling worried or unsure about how best to support your child, I can provide guidance and support for you too. Together, we can explore your concerns, develop a better understanding of your child's emotional needs, and build your confidence in responding to the challenges you may be facing.

My Therapeutic Modality

My specialist training is in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), an evidence-based approach that helps us understand the relationship between our thoughts, feelings, behaviours, and physical responses. Together, we'll explore the patterns that may be keeping you stuck and develop practical strategies to help you make changes to unhelpful thinking and behaviour.

Alongside CBT, I bring a warm, compassionate, and person-centred approach to my work. Building a trusting therapeutic relationship is at the heart of therapy, and I strive to create a safe and non-judgemental space where you feel comfortable to explore whatever is on your mind.

When clinically appropriate, I also draw on techniques from other evidence-based approaches, including Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) , Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). By integrating these approaches where appropriate, I can adapt therapy to suit you, ensuring that we use the tools and techniques that best support your wellbeing and personal goals.
