What is CBT?

CBT is an evidence-based treatment that can help people with depression, anxiety, panic attacks, hard relationships, and many other problems. It is based on the concept that your thoughts, feelings, physical sensations and actions are interconnected, and that negative thoughts and unhelpful behaviours can trap you in a negative cycle.

Through CBT we can explore the ways that automatic negative thoughts or beliefs affect our feelings and lead to maladaptive behaviours. It aims to identify factors that maintain dysfunctional cycles, and to learn tools that help improve the way we feel.

Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a present-focused, empathetic, structured, and time-limited psychotherapy. It has also been shown to be an efficient treatment for mental health issues in children and adolescents, older adults and couples.
